An Executive Headteacher has been appointed to a new first school opening in Uttoxeter next year.

Andrea Cairns is Interim Executive Headteacher of Bramshall Meadows First School and All Saints Church of England First School. She started the role on November 1st, 2021.

Bramshall Meadows First School, on Ivinson Way, is opening in September 2022 and has places for 150 pupils, age 4 to 9, and nursery age children.

Applications for reception places are now being accepted and an open event for prospective parents is taking place on Tuesday, November 16th, 2021. To find out more and sign up, please visit www.bramshallmeadows.org.uk.

The new first school will be led by Uttoxeter Learning Trust, which has eight Ofsted graded ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ schools including All Saints Church of England First School, on School Lane, Church Leigh.

Andrea joined Uttoxeter Learning Trust in 2017 and has 27 years’ experience of working in education. Prior to her new role, she was Headteacher of All Saints Church of England First School.

She said: “I am thrilled to lead such an exciting project, a new first school for the town that will provide much needed pupil places, whilst building on my former role. I am really looking forward to meeting prospective parents at the open event this month.”

Bramshall Meadows First School is part of a wider plan to expand provision in response to increased demand for places generated from new housing, and is being funded by a Section 106 contribution and Staffordshire County Council.

Planning permission for the school was approved by East Staffordshire Borough Council in June 2020.

Sarah Clark, Chief Executive Officer, Uttoxeter Learning Trust, said: “We are pleased to appoint Andrea as Executive Headteacher at an exciting stage in the Trust’s development as we grow our family of schools and ensure that children in Uttoxeter can access good, local provision.”
